In Celle by Alte Rathaus the largest damn dog I've ever seen- It's called an Irish Wolf Hound and those people sitting at that table let me take a picture with it, they are all British. He was a nice pup.

Mass Graves

The mounds in the background are the mass graves. There are 30,000 Jews, 20,000 non-Jews and 50,000 POW's buried in those graves.

Anne Frank and Margot Frank Monument

No one know which mass grave Anne and her sister were buried in. This monument was place here by her father several years after the war.

Chaim Herzog Memorial Stone

Memorial stone for Chaim Herzong, President of Israel, who died April of 1997. This is an honorary stone. He is not buried here. He was an intelligence officer serving in the British Army and was with the troops that liberated Bergen-Belsen.

Memorial Marker

There are random headstones throughout the site. No one knows which mass grave their loved ones are buried so they got permission to erect monuments and headstones in this area.

Map of the camp

This is a map of the original camp. The buildings were torn down at the end of the war to kill the Lice and stop the Typhus epidemic from spreading. The Typhus was so bad that EVERYONE that stayed at this camp died including the guards.

Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp

A few weeks ago we went to visit the site of the concentration camp where Anne Frank and her sister Margot died. They died of Typhus just a few weeks before the British liberated the camp.
